Dean Wood is the President/CEO of Sunrise, FL based, Aviation Concepts, Inc., since 1991 – a global leader in the supply of aircraft spare parts, components, and equipment to the worlds’ airlines.an aviation professional who has spent the past 35 years traveling the world helping airlines solve their inventory management, logistics, and supply difficulties – strategizing with them to implement innovative, cost-saving supply-chain initiatives.

Dean has always made his customers and vendors his friends, garnering 1000’s of contacts and relationships in every facet of aviation. He takes pride in the fact that he has managed that intricate balance to open new business approvals, acquire large inventories and commercial aircraft, secure contracts, and build robust daily-business activity for his company which counts over 100 airlines around the world as customers.

No stranger to charity work,2008-2010, Dean worked on a committee, to manage three annual fund-raising events (5k Run/Walk – “Daniella’s Journey by the Sea”) where they raised $250,000. In 3-years to build the Daniella Folleco Atrium at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Daniella was Dean’s daughter Brooke’s best-friend, she passed away at 12-years old from complications due to osteosarcoma, the atrium was her vision and was fully realized.

Dean has been an Ambassador for Miami-based, Amigos Near Foundations (501(c)(3) since its start in 2009. Beyond fund-raising, Dean has personally worked on-site, in-country, with numerous childrens’ charities in several of the over 70 countries the organization has touched. Amigos Near aims to help underprivileged children around the world, with a primary focus on bringing smiles to Orphanages and Childrens’ Hospitals.

Besides the deep, passionate need for coffee, Dean gets out of bed looking forward to each days diverse challenges, an eternal optimist, yet realist, who never gets mired-down by “the problem” rather, will alwaysmake the decision to continue moving towards the solution. “If you can’t change it, don’t worry about it – if you CAN change it, you better get started!”Dean is Miami-born, married to his true-match, Stephanie, a Global Business Development Manager for a global time-critical logistics provider (focus on Aviation/Aerospace) they live in Weston with their 10-year old twin boys, Luke & Zane. 23-year old Blake works as a Project Manager for Bergeron Land Development, 24-year old Brooke, is in the last year working towards a PharmD at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science (Boston), and 31 year-old Jim, lives in Pittsburgh with his wife Dana – Jim is in Wealth Management with TIAA.

With 5 KIDS, who has time for anything else!? But when there IS time, Dean enjoys travel (a serial inaugural flight buff) people, in general, U2 and other concerts (wherever/whenever) deep-sea fishing, cooking, wine-collecting (spelled d-r-i-n-k-i-n-g) and is a Pro-Am mixologist at home (ask him about the martini-of-the-day)FUN
