Dr. Loretta Ovueraye has a long history with Miami Dade College, joining the College in 1999 as Environmental Science Program coordinator and adjunct professor. She also served as dean of faculty at MDC Padrón Campus, department chair for Biology, Health, Wellness, and Funeral Service Education at MDC. Her long and successful career in higher education led to her current role as vice provost for Workforce Programs and Professional Learning.

Throughout her career, she has distinguished herself as a student success change agent for academic and technical education programs. As a Nigerian American, she takes the motto “opportunity changes everything” to heart and sees the value of programs for students of color to transform their access and success Dr. Ovueraye is an experienced Academician with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, E-Learning, Computer systems applications, Customer Service, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion program management.

Strong education professional with a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) focused on Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University, Master’s degree from Imperial College UK in Environmental Science.
