Avionics Repair Technician

We’ll Help Find the Right Option

Numerous companies nationally make, repair, distribute, and install avionics systems and components.

Broward College is a proud member of the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA). AEA and our employer partners help ensure that our program is current and provides the skills you need to be successful in your career.

Electronics in the aviation world are known as avionics. Avionics are found all over the aircraft; from the communication and navigation radios in the cockpit to the Wi-Fi and inflight entertainment systems passengers enjoy in the cabin and even in the aircraft’s engines.

Numerous companies nationally make, repair, distribute, and install avionics systems and components. Broward College in South Florida offers a 2-year associate of science degree in avionics or a shorter 33 credit technical certificate.

With either program, you’ll be well-positioned to take the National Center for Aerospace & Transportation Technologies (NCATT) Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) certification exam. The AET is recognized by avionics employers worldwide and earning it will put your resume at the top of their hiring pile.

Broward College is also proud to be one of the very few schools across the country with the Airbus ACT Academy A320 Simulation Training Program. Students in the avionics program will have the opportunity to participate in this training program giving them real-world training on one of the most prolific passenger aircraft in existence today and which is flown by airlines such as United Airlines, American Airlines, JetBlue, Spirit Airlines, and many others.

Internship opportunities and scholarship opportunities are available. Classes are held during the evenings. New students are being accepted for the Fall 2024 semester.
