Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Helping Autistic Adults Perform & Excel (HAAPE). Our foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization started in Weston, Florida with Chapters and Partners throughout Florida and other US States. HAAPE is a majority volunteer organization. We are guided by our Vision, Mission, and Values as shown below.

While some of our volunteer opportunities require an on-site presence at times for certain functions, we do have many opportunities to work remotely. Please be advised that since we work with a vulnerable population, some volunteer roles require a criminal background check.
Here are examples of the volunteer positions and functions we frequently have available.
- Autism advocate – working under the direction of the local chapter’s managing director and depending upon your skills, activities may include: communication with nonprofit, governmental, and employment organizations; attending autism awareness events, job fairs, and related school programs.
- Administrative volunteer – assist with routine office tasks.
- Events volunteer – assisting with fundraising events, community activities, and celebratory events. May involve telephone calls, distributing materials, writing thank you notes, etc.
- Grant writing specialist – in collaboration with the board of directors.
- Social media assistant – creating content, scheduling posts, posting videos and photos.

After we receive your application, we will contact you and arrange an interview and answer any questions you may have about volunteering with HAAPE. Interviews may be held in person, by phone or by Zoom.
